AppSolutions Westcar's team has participated in more than sixty successful scalable application projects including client-server, Internet, distibuted, and cooperative platforms. Westcar has expertise in multi-tier architectures and remote data management. Our project experience spans over 20 years and we have deployed a variety of specific technologies including, but not limited to, ASP, Oracle, Microsoft BackOffice and SQL Server, Sybase, Spectra, Cold Fusion, Java, and Omnis. We understand technology in a way that allows us to extract the most value while applying the greatest benefit.

eSolutions Most companies today have a need for commerce-ready internet applications, internal or external to the business process. Whether this means providing real-time access to legacy data repositories or B2B or B2C facilities to enhance market share and competitive advantage, we understand the issues surrounding planning, design, capacity, and security.

HostSolutions Through our trusted partners at GKG, Westcar offers end-to-end application hosting and support services, allowing our customers to forego the rigor and demand required by internal deployment of web-based applications. Our hosting rates are highly competitive as compared to the industry, our facilities are world-class, and our service is second to none.

SupportServices On many occasions Westcar has been sked to provide remote extended support for applications that were built by our team or by others. Given the success of our support model in these cases, we now offer comprehensive offsite application maintenance and technical support for your technical end-users or in-house development staff. We feel it is important for our customers to manage the knowledge investment made during the course of any project initiative and our contract support services achieve this goal.

ProjectServices Our project planning, project management, business analysis, system architecture, and design skills are assets we bring to all consulting engagements. Our skilled managers will lead your effort or integrate seamlessly into your team using a proven but flexible methodology. Let us guarantee your success.

OUR APPROACH - WFD

Westcar developed a system design methodology (WFD) loosely derived from the Quality Function Deployment model that was pioneered in Japan by Yoji Akao in 1966. The principles have been successfully applied in many rigorous environments from space exploration and auto manufacturing to software development.

Our WFD methodology is a true system engineering process that transforms the desires of the customer into the language required, at all project levels, to implement a product or deliverable. It also provides the glue necessary to tie all facets of a project together and manage it efficiently and effectively.

WFD is a way to ensure the design quality of a product while it is still in design - long before it reaches the end-user. When successfully applied, WFD has demonstrated the reduction of development time by one-third to one-half. Unlike many other methodologies, WFD is flexible to the customer's needs. And, because of its real-world oriented framework and pragmatic approach guidelines, it requires no education.

In essence, WFD is a structured process, a visual language, and a set of interlinked engineering and management charts, all integrated with seven core management tools. It establishes customer value using the "voice of the customer" and transforms that value into design and production process characteristics. The result is a systems engineering process which prioritizes and links the product development process so that it assures product quality and affordability as defined by the customer.
